2022 NCF/AMB. Aduke Alakija Memorial Arts & Essay Competition for Young Nigerians
THEME: Only One Earth
Here is an opportunity to boost your child’s imagination and creativity while promoting environmental sustainability. This competition is in honour of the memory of Ambassador Aduke Alakija, OFR. As a lawyer, diplomat and administrator, the late Ambassador Aduke Alakija undertook the administration of the Foundation at its earliest stage and finally ensured NCF was registered as a charitable trust in 1982. She was a member of the Board of Trustees of NCF till her death on 27th, March 2016

ART
Competition is open to anyone between 5 – 18 years and in full time education. Competitors must not submit more than one entry and schools must not submit more than 5 entries in each age category. Entries may be in colour or black and white in any drawing or painting material.
CATEGORIES:
a. 5 – 11 years
b. 12 –18 years
All entries must be on paper size:
Minimum – 20 x 30cm
Maximum- 40 x 50cm
Each artwork must be labelled at the back with the competitor’s full name (surname in capitals) age, sex, name and address of school and must be endorsed by the principal.
ESSAY
Competition is open to anyone between 12 – 18 years of age in full time education.
Competitors must not submit more than one entry and schools not more than 5 entries in each age category.
CATEGORIES:
a. Junior Secondary School
b. Senior Secondary School
Each entry must be in competitor’s own handwriting. Handicapped competitors needing someone to write their dictated essays must accompany their entries with explanatory letters from their principals.
Category Junior Secondary Schools:
Each essay should not be more than 500 words.
Category Senior Secondary Schools:
Each essay should be between 500 – 750 words.
Each essay must be labelled with competitor’s full name (surname in capitals),
age, sex, name and address of school and endorsed by the principal of the school.
COLLECTION/SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
Soft copies of all entries must be sent to education@ncfnigeria.org Followed by hard copies to NCF’s Zonal Offices, State’s Ministry of Education to avoid loss of entries.
All entries from the various Ministry of Education will be forwarded to Lagos for final judging. The decision of the judges in all matters is final and no correspondence may be entered into. Non adherence to any of the rules for both categories will lead to disqualification. All submitted entries become the property of NCF. Only winners will be notified.
