Insight on Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI) Phase I & II for Unemployed South Africans

The phase 1 (One) of the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI) was implemented as part of the presidential stimulus employment programme from December 2020 to April 2021.

Through this initiative, more than 300,000.00 (Three hundred thousand) employment opportunities were created for youths in South Africa with the aim of mitigating the devastating economy challenges brought about the covid-19 pandemic. Also Read: SA Youth BEEI 2021 Interview Requirements

Phase II (Two) of the BEEI Programme will focus on the reduction of youth unemployment. The department of basic education seeks to provide employment and training opportunities in the education sector to 287000.00 (Two hundred and eighty seven thousand) unemployed young South Africans of which approximately a 109200.00 (Hundred and Ninety two Thousand)  will be education assistant and about 95000.00 (Ninety five thousand) will be general school assistant .Also Read: SAYOUTH warns against Manual Application for BEEI Phase II

Youths between the ages of 18 – 35 who are currently neither in education, training nor receiving any for of government grant as well as young people with disabilities and women are eligible and encouraged to apply for this enriching experience. Candidates who are selected for employment will have the opportunity to receive training on various skills that will equip them for future employment opportunities.

Application for the basic education employment Initiative (BEEI) has been extended to the 10th of October 2021.To apply for placement young people are urged to visit SAYOUTH.MOBI  to create a profile and submit their application or SAYOUTH.ME/DBE  and complete their application.
