NBT Preparation App for Learners Launched
A South African education company has been running workshops and courses that have helped a number of learners prepare for the National Benchmark Tests (NBTs). Recently, this company launched an NBT preparation app for learners.
Prospective university students used to rely on assistance from their school teachers, tutors, and parents to prepare for the NBTs.
It was in 2013 that the Advantage Learn Technology team identified learners that were struggling to prepare for the NBTs.
This team then developed and launched its first NBT preparation workshops and courses for learners, and the rest is history.
In an interview, Advantage Learn Technology Director, Christopher Muller explained:
We found the real challenge here is that the learners were never tested in this format in school and there are also no NBT past papers. Today, we’ve been successfully offering NBT preparation for over nine years.
According to Advantage Learn Technology company, it has helped over 5 000 learners prepare for their NBTs in 2019 alone.
Over the years, Advantage Learn has formed partnerships with a number of schools across the country. In 2013, the company formed a partnership with Cornwall Hill College, in Gauteng.
The College’s Head of Physical Science, Jenny Koster described the feedback that they have received from learners as being exceptionally positive ever since introducing the Advantage Learn NBT Course in 2013.
Once the learners have written and passed these assessments, they will have a clear indication of their university readiness.
NBT registrations for the 2022 intake opened on 1 April 2022, the tests will run on from 05 June 2022 to 02 October 2022.
NBT sites are available across the country and also in some SADC countries (Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe)
